Blockchain Basics: Hash and Block Lab

Explore the interactive Hash Lab & Block Lab and see how blockchain fundamentals work in practice.

Click “Launch” on the lab options below to get started.

HASH LABORATORY:

Input data → SHA-256 Hash
Compare → SHA-256 Hash of Input 1 vs SHA-256 Hash of Input 2

To see the Avalanche Effect in action, enter a value, generate its hash, then change even a single character and generate the hash again. Notice how dramatically the hash changes.

The Avalanche Effect gives us sensitivity to changes.

BLOCK LABORATORY

Data Block(Block number + Timestamp + Transactions + Nonce) → SHA-256 Hash
