Blockchain Basics: Mining Lab

Explore the interactive Mining Laboratory and see how blockchain mining works. 

Click “Launch” on the lab option below to get started.




MINING LABORATORY:

1. In the Transaction Data box try to change 1 BTC to 2 BTC or any value.

2. From the Mining Difficulty drop down list select any option like "1 Leading Zero" or "4 Leading Zeroes".

3.  Click on "Mine Block" Button and wait for few seconds.

4. After mining is complete a new hash value with message "VALID BLOCK MINED SUCCESSFULLY" will be displayed.

5. Please note the number of leading zeroes in the new hash will match the leading zeroes selected from the Mining Difficulty drop down list.
